Fire Training

Butler was happy to finally get Daniwa back to health enough to not faint upon extreme emotions. Now he needed to catch her up greatly disliking the neglect she recieved from her new sensei and peers. She seemed hyped having taken it easy from her little scene with her sister and Demizo.

"Senpai is sensei! Sensei is senpai! Heehee-I will do good!"

"Okay, look at the tip of my finger. Concentrate on it and throw that pebble at it."

Daniwa picked up a pebble and stared for about three minutes at the finger before pulling her arm back and thrusting it forward. It struck Butlers finger smack in the middle and made it sore.

"Good girl. Now concentrate your chakra into a flame the size of the pebble."

"But-but that is so tiny." she stammered a bit alarmed.

"If you do it right you can make it powerful but small."

"Ooh. Okay senp-I mean sensei!"

Daniwa began by focusing chakra at her finger tip. She sat there for about an hour just reigniting her finger into a flame she repeatedly decreased in size. It took longer each time she tried shrinking it more. She breathed calmly and just kept to herself. The fire was the size of a kiwi at the moment. Her eyes narrowed and she told herself, Think small. Her hair lay at the ground quietly hoping not to pose a distraction.

The kiwi sized flame burned brightly and wavered as she tried concentrating on it more. She squinted as she drew the bright flame closer. Daniwa wondered what else would make it shrink besides her silly thoughts. The flame died down while she conserved her chakra as she thought. Maybe....maybe if she tried rounding it out it would shrink more. Yeah-maybe she could tryimmitating the pebble.

Daniwa grabbed the pebble and rolled it in her hand. She wanted to feel the shape, see the shape and know the shape. The pebble was dark against her skin. She eyed it closely and pinched it at all angles carefully. Everything was smoothe and finely shaped. Smoothe...she needed to round it out to perfection. Her flame was in a blazing blitz but it needed to be controlled. She had to control it.This fire needed to be controlled and concentrated on like-like all of the technologies of today. If werid geeks could fit thousands of data pieces into a single chip then she could fit the flame into a sphere.

Butler watched from a distance not wanting to distract her either and grinned to himself seeing her focus on the pebble. She was making another flame at her fingertip but this time it began to curve inward. It spiraled slowly and carefully. Daniwa was being as patient as possible but could not help but gawk at how it rolled up into a ball. The flame was the size of a tennis ball but her success was rounding it out. Daniwa released the flame into nothing and punched the air happily.

Now that she got the shape right she felt more accomplished. All she had to do was perfect the rounding and she would be done for the day. Daniwa remained sitting and rpeatedly made her fames into balls. What she wanted to do was make the transfer of shape automatic. It took more energy changing the fire into the sphere than it did making the flame. Daniwa waved her hand to start again. She wanted to get this right! She would get this right!

Daniwa stood up and held out her hand. Her index finger made a flame spring up and se waved her hand disposing of it. She tried again but again it appeared a flame not a ball. To her dismay she failed multiple times. She needeto find nother way. Maybe if she concentrted on the shape as she made it she could create the sphere like flame. She flicked up her finger and focused telling herself, "Spiral-spiral-spiral..." And slowly it began morphing its shape. It started cylinder like and made its ay to a reckless oval. Soon though, she ignited hr finger and low and beholf her flame was a perfect sphere. She even examined it at all angles looking for flaws but it was fine.

"Sen-sei! Sensei, look!" she called. Butler came and held her hand up to his face. Examining what progress was made he smiled and kissed her head. She shook her hand relieving herself of the fire and climbed into his arms tiredly. "We can do more tomorrow sensei."

"It's senpai whie I'm off duty." he added with a smile as he helped her up.

They arrived nice and early. Daniwa had a fancy riceball with egg and beef inside for breakfast and Butler followed her with water so she wouldn't overheat or anything not exactly aware of her limits or powers. She went back to where she had been training the other day and twisted her hand summoning up the ball of fire. She grinned and watched the fire ball spiral at her fingertip.

"Time to make you smaller Mr. Flame. Hm...If you need to be smaller....if you need to be smaller how do I get you to do so?" She twirled her finger playfully and watched it spin. "Smaller...."

Daniwa went to a mound of dirt and dug out the same pebble. She looked at it carefully holding it in one hand and held her ball of fire at the tip of her finger in the other. Seeing the size of the pebble and understanding its strength was key. She had to do the same. Daniwa focused on the ball more thinking of bundling the force into a smaller size. This was after all her goal before Butler would teach her the final part.

Then-she got it! All she needed to do was pack the power like chakra in a fist. If she could get it to down size itself while increasing its power than the jutsu would be nearly complete! Daniwa waved her hand removing the fire ball and started up a new one. This one sprung up quickly and it looked as if explosions were happening on the inside. Little embers sprung out of it as if began to what appeared to be devouring itself till it was microscopic and eventually dispersed.

"Shoot-I almost had it." she scowled but started again.

The fire balls repeatedly consumed themselves from overlapping and overpacking itself till it combusted. Daniwa felt confident though and refused to give up. If she could carve off the useless embers that continuously fell off than the concentration on the fire energy source would provide enough power to ignite flammable objects before it went out. She waved her hand to exstinguish the flame intending to start over. This was for sure the solution! She had to make her second day count. This was midpoint of her first fire training.

Daniwa held up her index finger ready to put her idea to the test. The spiraling ball of fire appeared and she watched it allowing the ball to again eat itself but began with attempts to stop it at te perfect size. It began too big and then too small but when she sighed feeling her energy drop due to less motivation, at the corner of her eye she saw what she had done. The flame was the perfect size sitting right on her finger but due to its small size and powerful force it eventually put itself out rather than consuming itself. Daniwa smiled and kissed her finger pleased with her creation. After she mastered the size, she could do the final part Butler had yet to tell her.

Daniwa started up the flame again. Getting it to the size was fairly simple now that she relaxed. It was in truth easier than she had made it. Now to make it automatic as well. She went through several trials but as it went along the flame began showing up smaller and smaller. Once she hit the spot she practiced with the same tension used. Again, it was laid back and quick but she wanted to keep going till she was satisfied for the night. Butler could see her work from where he stood and made his way towards her.


"Well done. We can go now. Tis late Daniwa. Definitely passed your curfew."

"Yes sensei-senpai-uh-" she stammered.

He chuckled to himself and led her by the hand home for the night.

The final day and Daniwa was ready to give it her all. She was riding on Butler's back this time as she slurped up a fancy serving of ramen not bought from Ichiraku and humed happily knowing in her heart this training would be the greatest start in her shinobi life. Daniwa liked the spot she was training at. There was a circle of trees that surrounded them hiding the darker parts of the forest and a small stream off to the side. Just a bit away from there was her favorite spot to picnic and here-the big rock. This rock was where she started the training. After today-she would claim this area for her future trainings but for now-it was time to get down Jutsu #1.

"Sensei! What is the final step? What am I to do with the fire ball bullet thingy?" she asked curiously as she slid off of his back.

"Today-you will learn how to release it...Like a bullet." he spoke casually.

"Like a bullet? So I'm making it leave my finger to hit something else? Oh that's cool! How sensei-how?"

"Well, after main the fire ball or bullet rather, you will use what chakra is put into the fire to make it repel off of the tip of your finger. Let the chakra come in a sudden rush like the trigger of a gun and it should work." Butler gave a soft smile knowing this part would prove more challenging since there was so much more to it that she would find compared to what he had said and left to watch.

Daniwa hed up two fingers playfully and decided to stand for this part.She was on the rock and quickly got up the ball of fire. It came up instantly and Daniwa proudly waved it around but blushed realizing she fell off task. SHe started again and this time did as he said. She made the exertion of chakra neccessary come in a shrt quick burst. Daniwa barely had time to see the fireball for it sprung to life before she could watch it form. The flame hurlted off aimlessly and dropped to ashes and embers.

"Well now-where's the instructions to control that freak show." she pouted and got ready for trial number two.

Daniwa did it once again and pointed at a tree stump. The flame zigzagged off to the side before fading off. She stomped rather frustrated. She aimed but the stupid thing left to nowhere. She began to fire them off in a fury watching them fly by some coming towards her and in circles. A few struck Butler who flinched ducking and dodging finding his lack of advice was striking him hard in the back. He mde his way towards her and grabbed her wrists from behind pulling them back so she'd stop. He could feel her heavy breathing with frustration and kissed her head.

"Calm yourself. I'll help. Now-when you release the fire you still need to concentrate. Your hand twitches far too much when you try shooting holding your hand loosley. You need to find a position comfortable for you to concentrate. If you simply hold out your hand it can go anywhere. A physical gesture demanding that it go where you want it to will perfect your aim without years of training."

Daniwa listened to every word as her breaths came slower being able to refocus. She stood there a while thinking what gesture could possibly keep the flame in her control. She did flicks, swirls and even ponting but it all failed hopelessly. When she tried flicking her finger to throw it, the fire balls repeatedly hurtled downwards. It would strike the ground quicker than her foot came down in frustration. Daniwa quickly dropped that idea from the outcome.

Next was the swirls. She thought she coul try a spirlaing motion to keep the flame coming but in an unseen orbit a it drew near. The problem was clearly that it either grazed the target, struck where she didn't want it to or simly missed the target. The idea was a lot more unique but far too frustrating to deal with. Her fire was not coming easily with her fancy ideas so she thought being plain and blah might be an advantage. She decided maybe pointing could help it.

Daniwa held out her long and thin index finger pointing directly at the stump. She thought about the possible flaws and smiled finding none. Of course when she fired it, the flame went off to where she hadn't predicted it would go. The error in this one was her visual of where she pointed. She could not match up with what exactly faced her fingertip holding it the way she did. The kunoichi's eye brow twitched in sight annoyance having wasted her time and rocked herself on her heels thinking.

She flexed her fingers while whispering a song to herself still thinking. She was thinking of what Butler had told her about the jutsu. It was a quick and useful one...It took talent to learn it....The flame was round like a bull-Aha! That was it! If the flame was like a bullet than the perfect gesture-the perfect gesture was the gun! Daniwa held out her index finger and held her thumb up over it and aimed. She could see the stump and quickly "shot" at the target. The flames rushed by as glowing specs striking the dry stump. Immeidetly the stump caught fire and Daniwa squealed excitedly beginning to shoot rapidly at other targets. They caught fire but started a chain reaction that her hair quickly took care of. It wrapped around the trees that were starting to burn putting the flames out before they did real damage while Daniwa ran to Butler.

"Senpai! Uh-Sensei! I did it I did it!" she jumped onto him and he laughed feeling himself choke.

"Y-ye Daniwa. You did. Ahem-" he cleared his throat for breathing space and uttered out, "Now name it Daniwa. Name this jutsu. It is all yours."

At the sound of that she released him and clasped her hands over her mouth cutley showing modesty and sheepishness.

"Um-how about something ironic....but still serves its purpose....Like....Inferno! This is now Inferno!" she giggled and held her hand in the same gesture before aiming it up and "firing" away.

Effect: Daniwa fires a single ball of fire from the tip of her finger (she tends to hold her hand out like a gun) no bigger than the size of the ball of a pen. It can trigger the biggest of fires when used on a lammable object that can set fire to other nearby objects that ar flammable. This attack takes little chakra but was a challenge to learn. These fire balls she fires one at a time can only travel in the direction she aims them at and travel at light speed so her aim has to be good.

[On to Jutsu #2]

Daniwa's Inferno had ben a success. Now she wanted to do something with Sow-Byoku. Butler promised he would teach he something for her Kenjutsu if she mastered Inferno in less than a week. Now she ha to meet the same standards so he could teach her another. She was looking forward to this for sure.

"Sensei, what will be happening to Sow-Byoku?" she asked in an innocent fashion.

"Sow-Byoku is going to get reall hot." he grinned and held out his hand.

Daniwa quickly unsheathed her sword placing it in his hands and he ran his hand down the smoothe blade.

"You will be focusing you fire element into your hands but let it flow out and into your sword like you did Inferno so your chakra may become one with the weapon.

Daniwa held out her hands for the sword. Once it was in her posession she held the blade with both hands. Her chakra built up nicely and came in small currents running through her fingertips and into the blade. The blade began to show signs of warmth. It's fine color glowed a pink and red and Daniwa dropped it thinking something was wrong. Her hands were burnt but she was more shocked than in pain.

"Your chakra will bring a fine heat to Sow-Byoku's blade. This will aid in cleaner cuts. Think of a hot knife slicing through butter." he added.

"Ooh...Okay!" she giggled and sat down on her rock with the sword.

Her hands held the blade again. It was not as hard as she thought when it came to heating the blade. Her brilliantly glowing chakra would twist in color like a flame and the heated Sow-Byoku burned at her delicate hands. Daniwa embraced the pain and continued. SHe was highly fascinated by the way her sword would glow. For some reason she knew this was not the end of training. If he expected a week or less and not a minute or two-there was information on this jutsu he left out.

Butler approached her after seeing she could get the chakra in it well. He patted her back and acknowledgedher efforts but showing worry for her hands. SHe waved him off and continued. He wanted her to try focusing her heated chakra enough so that it circulated through the blade. This was a difficult task for she was so keen on making it hot wherever she touched but now it was about the whole thing.

Daniwa tried rubbing her hands over it to heat it quickly so it was hot all at once. Her hands took on the heat but her efforts were futile for when she finished one section the other cooled before she could finish. Daniwa scowled and closed her hands around the top and bottom of the blade. She exerted the hot chakra through her hands and watched. The blade glowed and to her surprise, the color spread from either end till it met in the middle. She quickly smiled and waved at Butler to get his attention.

Butler smiled and helped her up. Her hands were red and blistering but from the smile on he face it was as if there was no wounds at all. She was doing good. Her performance was excellent and now that she was healthy again, the training was really working. Now she had to learn how to exert that heat through the handle. To top it off, neither hand could be on the blade. She could use one or both but still no contact could be made between her hands and the blade to be heated. SHe of course was a bit upset that he strategy needed to be redone but she was ready for the challenge.

"Sensei, I cannot touch the blade no matter what?" she asked.

"No matter what," he repeated.

Daniwa's hands left the blade and went to the handle. She began exerting her chakra. It came weaker than before and she winced uncontrollably. Her hands dropped the sword and she looked at them. She burnt them till they bled. Her chakra was too low for this. Daniwa whimpered when a shadow loomed over her and grabbed her from under her arms. Butler lifted her up.

"Don't go killing yourself. If you want to learn and become a great ninja you need to survive your training," he said quietly to her knowing she was falling asleep.

"Okay sensei..."

Daniwa came so early this time that the sun was still rising. Butler was abit groggy but setted down against a tree overlooking her training as he rested. Another sleepless night due to that awful feeling of anger and anxiety that would erupt from him.

She was bouncy as always about training and drew Sow-Byoku. Daniwa now had to get heat to the blade without touching it. She wrapped one hand around the handle and held it out. Her chakra beginning to circulate through her hand and to the handle. The handle felt warm but the blade was untouched. Daniwa was unsure as to how she had to work this one out but since Butler was tired she was on her own.

"Okay-so you wanna be tough eh Sow? Well you have to work with me here. I want you to get hot-and not by catching fire, understand?" the kunoichi yapped to the lifeless sword. "Okay-now here we go."

Daniwa held out the sword again now imagining a fluent rush of chakra travelling from one place to the other. Her eyes were narrowed and her hands were working up chakra but she started thinking when she saw her hand glow the way her sword should and faintly entered the handle. Her chakra was not travelling fast enough to reach it's destination. Daniwa relaxed her body to relieve herself of tension and held out Sow-Byoku yet again.

Her body swayed a bit as she rocked her hand trying to get the chakra to come more rapidly. She figured that for her, if she were to loosen up than the chakra could move quicker. Daniwa started allowing her chakra to come and amazingly, the chakra came in a faint rush of heat through her arm to the blade.It did not warm the handle enough for her to feel it do to the agility of it but as it lit up he blade, the flaming chakra shot off the end of the sword,

"Oh rats! That was too much. Um...." she glanced at Butler who was atching her through lazy eyes and made a tight fist. "Okay-I can do this. I don't need Senpai doing everything for me. I can show him I'm capable! He beilieves in me so I cannot let him down." Daniwa said to motivate herself. Nobody else would...

Daniwa enjoyed the comfort of losing thtension in her body. It was good for her since she was young and as she would get older, she would be more flexible and better at the chakra currents. For now, any form of stretching was fine. She tightened her hold on Sow-Byoku and twisted her wrist playfully while releasing a stronger but more maintained set of chakra. This one illuminated her sword as if it were sitting in fireand did not leave through the tip. She grinned and waitted for it to cool of before doing it again infront of Butler.

She again played with her wrist and heated the sword but with Butler standing before her watching quite impressed. Master Tohru had entrusted a magnificent sword with a very great kunoichi indeed. She showed him her hands and this time they weren't charred or blistered like before. Her body was adapting to this fire training and this would come in handy for actual battle. For the rest of the day, he would let Daniwa relax. She was on a jutsu marathon.

"Can we get bubble tea and-and wontons, the fried ones and oh-I feel like eating spicy stuff today. What about the...." she continued as they walked off.

For the final day of training for Sow-Byoku's new jutsu Daniwa came before the sun had fully risen in her sleeping gown with shorts underneath totally barefoot and dragging her sword along with her. Butler was trailing behind her still buttoning closed his overcoat with Senryu hanging out the side of his mouth. When she stopped by the rock and turned to face him he was hugging himself out of breath and wiped sweat off of his forehead. He stood up straight appearing wiped out and took Senryu out of his mouth.

He cleared his throat and gestured for her to watch. With a swift movement, Senryu sliced a thin tree in half. Daniwa watched wide eyed and grin excitedly before shooing him away so she could practice. Today was about learning to use it on targets. She stood infront of a thin tree and fiddled with the handle a bit before getting the blade hot and thrusted it sideways into the bark. The thin tree fell to pieces and she giggled wildly before moving on to another thin tree that cut just as easy.

Butler directed her with a lazy finger to a thicker tree. She understood and made her way to it. Daniwa grinned at the glowing blade and stepped forward with the slash unintentionally and the tree fell easier than the thin ones. Butler rubbed his eyes amazed that she had "caught on" or so he thought but Daniwa only tilted her head quite bewildered at the tuirn out. She thought things would get a lot more...difficult perhaps?

"Sensei," she called out. "Is it not supposed to get harder?"

Butler rubbed the back of his head and raised an eyebrow quite impressed even for her. He saw potential but not this. He nodded and shrugged directing her to thicker trees. Daniwa enjoyed this and continued "dancing" with her strokes of Sow-Byoku. It came easily and comfortably especially with the lighter weight of no shoes. The trees tumbled one by one so Butler got up to hold them up to her to slash with more active targets.

She chased as he dodged backwards and to the side. He was being extra careful for if he got caught he'd be as dead as the chopped wood. Daniwa was getting crafty with her movements and started side stepping to keep up with his blocks. She was getting better and faster. His blocks of wood shattered into splinters in his gloved hands as he staggered backwards into a tree trunk.

Daniwa ended up taking him on with his Senryu. The sound of the weapons clanging against each other was sharp and loud but with his balanced chakra it kept his weapon from breaking. She scowled at this but appreciated the challenge. Butler found this helpful in multiple ways. She was getting a work out, he was getting a work out, she was enhancing her kenjutsu as well and was practicing her new jutsu. Her gown spun about like petals of a flower and her steps were taken gracefully. Eventually, Sow-Byoku was knocked out of her hand and both ninja slumped to their knees breathless.

"Sens-sensei I-I-" she uttered out happily but fell asleep tiredly.

"You did it..." he finished for her and wearily made his way to her. He couldn't find the strength in him at the moment to carry her or himself for that matter home so instead he cradled her in his lap to nap.

Effect: Daniwa uses her chakra to heat her blade to up to about 300 degrees in order to cut through solid objects like a hot knife through butter. From flesh and bones to trunks and rocks, the blade can penetrate almost anything without a strong enough force of chakra to deflect it such as a weapon but not a jutsu. Jutsus are easily sliced through as well. The heat in the blade lasts for the rest of battle or till she sheaths it.
