Demonic Illusion: Torture of Reflection

Post by Mew Cookie on Fri Jul 03, 2009 3:39 am

Name: Magen: Touei no Kashaku - Demonic Illusion: Torture of Reflection
Rank: C-rank
Element: Water
Skill: Genjutsu
Range: Close range
Description: This technique can only be used when there is enough water on the ground for both the user and the opponent to see their reflections. The user disappears, but their reflection remains, and they can then proceed to attack the victim's reflection and cause them pain. The downside to this technique is that the victim need only find a way to eliminate their reflection, such as stepping away from the water, and they will be safe. This technique cannot be used in pitch-black darkness, because you cannot have a reflection. It does not work on mirrors.
Mastery: Yes.

It seems approvable.

Basically. When a large body of water is around and reflections can be created. You disappear but your reflection remains. Your reflection then attacks the enemy's reflection. Any damage the enemy reflection takes the actual person receives. Right?

Q: What happens if ripples are created in the water and the reflection is distorted? Does that weaken the illusion? Does it make you visible for attack?

Q: What happens to you during this technique? Do you become invisible to the human eye but you remain in the same spot and only your reflection can be seen?

Q: Can the person try to attack the reflection using their own reflection against yours?

Q: Would this Technique work on mirrors?

Also your technique requires the Specular Reflection.

Q: What is the Specular Reflection?

A: Specular reflection is the mirror-like reflection of light (or sometimes other kinds of wave) from a surface, in which light from a single incoming direction (a ray) is reflected into a single outgoing direction.

Translation: It requires a strong amount of light so your technique can't be used in darkness when there is no light around.

No. This technique is merely a genjutsu, or illusion technique, so while the victim feels the pain, it is not real and their body remains intact outside of the illusion.

Q: What happens if ripples are created in the water and the reflection is distorted? Does that weaken the illusion? Does it make you visible for attack?
No, it doesn't affect the illusion. The reflections will just appear rippled as usual. However, the user will have to be careful to 'attack' the reflection when it is moving.

Q: What happens to you during this technique? Do you become invisible to the human eye but you remain in the same spot and only your reflection can be seen?
Since this is a genjutsu, you don't really disappear; you remain in the same spot, and the victim trapped in the jutsu sees you 'vanish'.

Q: Can the person try to attack the reflection using their own reflection against yours?
No, their reflection is pretty much useless.

Q: Would this Technique work on mirrors?
No, it only works on water, as it is a water-release technique.

Thanks for pointing out that specular reflection thing, by the way. I'll add that in. :3
